	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/08/2014 answer text <p>Under previous arrangements, Official Service Residences (OSRs, colloquially known as ‘grace and favour’ residencies) were provided for senior officers in certain posts which required them to undertake official hospitality for Defence purposes. As announced by the then Minister for Personnel, Welfare and Veterans (Andrew Robathan) on 12 December 2011 (Official Report, column 63WS), these arrangements have been discontinued. Properties which were formerly categorised as OSRs are being phased out on a rolling basis as personnel retire or move on to other posts. However, senior officers remain entitled to Service Family Accommodation (Type 1 or Type 2). In addition, the Department is undertaking an ongoing review into domestic assistance policy to ensure that the level of support provided to senior entitled officers is appropriate and driven by a clear business need. It has replaced the staff gym in the Old Admiralty Building office which has closed as part of the FCO's office relocation. Figures for the gym alone could not be extracted from these totals without incurring disproportionate cost.</p><p>Expenditure on refurbishing cafeterias during 2013 was nil. During 2014 to date, the total was £189,682.</p><p>Expenditure on the refurbishment of interior decoration is not specifically identified as such within the Department’s records and could not be extracted without incurring disproportionate cost.</p><p>Overseas, the FCO runs an estate in over 270 locations worldwide. Titles are provided electronically wherever possible to ensure efficiency and best value for money.</p><p>The FCO does not hold centrally separate data on magazine subscriptions. The majority of decisions on subscriptions are made by the UK’s Embassies and diplomatic posts and are funded from within their delegated budgets, or by individual departments within the FCO on the same basis. As a result comprehensive information on individual publications is not centrally recorded and collating this information would incur disproportionate cost. Total FCO expenditure on publications has fallen by 16% since 2010.</p><p>(b) The FCO does not spend any money on premium satellite television channels in the UK. The Digital television system used by the FCO is provided through our support agreement with FCO Services. In particular, the independent expert Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment has published a number of major reports addressing exposure to man-made radiation from major nuclear installation operations and possible links with childhood cancers - www.comare.org.uk . 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/07/2014 answer text <p><em>Bacillus cereus</em> is a common bacteria found widely in the environment in dust, soil and vegetation. <em>Bacillus cereus</em> produces very hardy spores, which make it persistent in the environment.</p><p> </p><p>The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) undertake inspections of manufacturing facilities with reference to the standards of Good Manufacturing Practice to verify that companies are producing medicines that are of the correct quality and safety. The manufacture of sterile products, such as Total Parenteral Nutrition, is subject to special requirements in order to minimise risks of bacterial contamination.</p><p> </p><p>In the case of medicines, the MHRA and Public Health England (PHE) are currently investigating what has caused the recent incident where Total Parenteral Nutrition became contaminated with <em>Bacillus cereus</em>. Based on the information we currently have, we believe this is an isolated incident and the appropriate immediate action has been taken to avoid a recurrence. No impacted product was supplied to Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>The Northern Ireland administration has been informed of the current incident involving <em>Bacillus cereus</em>. The investigations into the cause of this incident are still ongoing.
