star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to ensuring businesses can access the finance they need for investment and growth.</p><p> </p><p>The Bank of England and HM Treasury announced in November that the Funding for Lending scheme would be focused on lending to businesses to reflect the success that the scheme has had with households. National and local authority data on rough sleeping can be found in the Rough Sleeping in England statistical release, which can be found on the Department's website at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collectinos/homelessness-statistics#rough-sleeping" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collectinos/homelessness-statistics#rough-sleeping</a>.</p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p>We are investing £470 million over the current spending review period to help local authorities and voluntary sector partners prevent and tackle homelessness, rough sleeping and repossessions. This includes £20 million to support the roll out of the ‘No Second Night Out' standard and protect vital front line services. We have also supported the voluntary sector to deliver 'StreetLink' a national rough sleeping hotline, website and app, to connect rough sleepers to local services.</p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p>On 10 June we announced that over £65 million of funding across Whitehall is being offered to councils and other organisations to tackle homelessness around the country and ensure that vulnerable people can access a range of support and lead independent lives.</p><p> </p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p>I announced on 6 March that the Independent Living Fund will close on 30 June 2015 and that responsibility and funding for all the care and support needs of current users will transfer to English local authorities and to the devolved administrations in Scotland and Wales. <br /> <br /> </p><p>The Independent Living Fund took immediate and comprehensive action to ensure that this decision was communicated to users of the fund. Details of the decision, including a link to the written statement, were published on its website on 6 March. Individual letters and an information sheet were issued by post to all users (or their representatives), on 12 March. For the following week, the Independent Living Fund also operated extended telephone hours to handle any follow-up questions from users. </p><p><strong> </strong></p> more like this

star this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p>We are committed to ensuring pensioners receive the benefits they are entitled to.</p><p>DWP's National Partnerships Team works with over 4,400 customer representative organisations, both nationally and locally, to provide a wide range of advice and support for pensioners.</p><p> </p><p>DWP has also introduced a web-based Pension Credit toolkit at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pension-credit-toolkit" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pension-credit-toolkit</a></p><p>Its purpose is to provide customer representative organisations with all the information needed in order to talk to pensioners about Pension Credit. In partnership with Age UK, local authorities and other groups, a structured campaign was undertaken to create awareness of the Toolkit amongst those who support our customers.</p><p> </p><p>DWP makes information available in various locations (for example, our website at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/browse/benefits" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/browse/benefits</a> and leaflets are available from our DWP Information Line on 0845 7313233) to ensure that people are aware of the benefits to which they may be entitled and how to claim them.</p><p> </p><p>We also have capacity through the Age Action Alliance to raise awareness of Pension Credit with its members which includes older people's forums and linked organisations from across the UK.</p>

star this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p>It is for local and district management to ensure Jobcentre Plus staff apply labour market conditionality fairly and consistently, taking into account individual claimant circumstances; and to make sure referrals to decision makers are appropriate and of consistently good quality.</p><p> </p><p>Independent reviews undertaken last year suggested that referral rates were appropriate. Findings from those reviews are fed back into operations to help inform ongoing monitoring and delivery.</p> more like this

Employers can now only set a fixed retirement age where it can be objectively justified in their particular circumstances, but this is open to challenge at tribunal.</p><p> </p><p>On 13 June we will be publishing ‘Fuller Working Lives – A Framework for Action'.
