	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/07/2015 answer text <p>£1.25 billion has been made available for children’s mental health over the course of this Parliament.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We, and local areas, along with our partner organisations including the Department for Education, are building on the momentum and powerful consensus generated by <em>Future in Mind, </em>the report on the work of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Taskforce.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We are making progress and are committed to taking forward both the ambition and individual proposals, backed by the additional investment. We are developing a central programme plan with a phased approach to implementation. Action underway includes:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>- Work to extend and expand the Children and Young People’s Access to Psychological Therapies Programme, so that by 2018, all local services will have participated in this transformative programme and it will cover additional clinical areas;</p><p> </p><p>- The commissioning of a new prevalence survey on mental health problems in children and young people;</p><p> </p><p>- Local areas have been invited to pilot joint training between schools and children and young people’s mental health services providers, to strengthen the mental health advice and support available in educational settings;</p><p> </p><p>- Improved services for perinatal mental health and eating disorders, both of which are being addressed through work this year; and</p><p> </p><p>- Plans for legislation to prevent any child or young person being put in a police cell as a place of safety during a mental health crisis.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In May 2015, NHS England wrote to all clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) asking them to work with their partners from across the NHS, public health, local authority, youth justice and education sectors to develop local Transformation Plans for children’s mental health and wellbeing to reshape the way services for children and young people with mental health needs are commissioned and delivered across all agencies over the next five years in line with proposals put forward in <em>Future in Mind</em>.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>NHS England will shortly be publishing guidance, developed with partners across the system, to CCGs on local Transformation Plans for children and young people’s mental health, in line with the proposal in <em>Future in Mind.</em></p><p> </p> answering member constituency North East Bedfordshire answering member printed Alistair Burt grouped question UIN 7437 7438 question first answered 20/07/2015 16:43:42 answering member 1201 label Biography information for Alistair Burt

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/04/2016 answer text <p>Working with the Department, Public Health England regularly undertakes an autism self assessment exercise with local authorities and their partners to gauge progress in implementing the Autism Strategy. The results of the self assessment and the individual returns from areas are made public so that organisations and people can challenge locally if they think that more needs to be done. The assessment questions and the process for local agreement are reviewed each time, taking into account that general continuity is needed in terms of measuring progress. The February meeting of the cross government Autism Programme Board considered the changes proposed for the next exercise which were put forward following discussions with representatives of Government departments, local authorities, the National Health Service, the autism third sector and people with autism and family carers. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2015 answer text <p>With the financial controls package and help from system leads, we are working towards delivering a balanced position against the overall spending controls in this financial year, despite an unprecedented level of deficit in the National Health Service provider sector.</p><br /><p>The NHS must now put in place cost-control measures we have introduced, like clamping down on agency spend, limiting the use of management consultants and making sure trusts have to justify the pay package of any manager who is paid more than the Prime Minister, while we continue to work with hospitals on ways to improve productivity and reduce waste.</p><br /><p>This year, we are investing £173 million of additional money in mental health, including £30 million for services for young people with eating disorders. We are taking a targeted and phased approach to the additional investment, to enable local areas to develop additional capacity and a collaborative approach across health, education and children’s services. We have invested £175 million via the GP Access Fund to commission 57 schemes across the country. In total 18 million patients in 2,500 practices have benefited from improved access to general practice.</p><p> </p><p>The GP Access Fund is promoting greater innovation in how practices offer access. This could be, for example, through networks of practices offering shared clinics at evenings and weekends.</p><p> </p><p>The first independent report on the national evaluation of wave one schemes looked at how schemes have provided more general practitioner appointments and expanded the type of patient appointments to improve patient and staff satisfaction.
