	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/06/2017 answer text <p>Overall access to National Health Service dentistry continues to increase. 22.2 million adults were seen by a dentist in the 24 month period ending 31 March 2017 and 6.8 million children in the 12 month period ending 31 March 2017. This represents 58,500 more adults and 47,400 more children than the previous quarter.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is responsible for commissioning NHS dental services and has a legal duty to commission primary care dental services to meet local needs. Whilst access has increased nationally we know there are areas where there is still further to go in ensuring that all those who want to access NHS dentistry can do so.</p><p> </p><p>New ways of providing care are being trialled to reform the current dental contract to further improve oral health and increase access, by preventing as well as treating disease, so freeing up resources. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/06/2017 answer text <p>NHS England does not currently routinely fund Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) due to the limited available evidence of its clinical and cost effectiveness compared to other available treatments and therapies.</p><p> </p><p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence Clinical Guideline 145 recommends that SDR can be considered to improve walking ability in children and young people with spasticity at Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) level II or III.</p><p> </p><p>The incidence of cerebral palsy (based on international estimates) is between 150 and 250 per 100,000 live births per year, with about 15% having spastic diplegia and a GMFCS level of II or III. Many STP areas have already published detailed workforce requirements as part of their plan.</p><p> </p><p>Health Education England is responsible for ensuring that there is a sufficient future supply of staff to meet workforce requirements, and have published 2015-20 workforce estimates to inform this. Individual organisations within the STP continue to have statutory duties to reduce inequalities.</p><p> </p><p>When there are proposals to substantially change services, the STP has a duty to consult with their local community. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/06/2017 answer text <p>Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) are not statutory organisations, but a new way for the National Health Service and local government to work together.</p><p> </p><p>Originally, every STP’s plan was based on their assessment of the health and prevention needs of their area’s population, as well as the financial envelope they operate in.
