We have received representations from a wide variety of stakeholders, including UK Finance, TheCityUK, the Association of Foreign Banks and the Investment Association, as well as many firms in Edinburgh, which, as the hon. Lady knows well, is a regional and global leader in, among others, the asset management and insurance industries. We are both clear that we want to protect the broad range of rights and entitlements currently enjoyed by both EU citizens in the UK and UK nationals in the EU. While there are, naturally, points on which our positions differ, we are confident we can reach agreement early in the negotiations. <br><br>The Citizens’ Rights Working Group completed a mapping of the areas of alignment and divergence between the EU and UK positions, to prioritise future discussions. The EU, as expressed in their paper on ‘Issues relating to the Functioning of the Union Institutions, Agencies and Bodies,’ is consistent with this position. The UK has had helpful discussions with the EU in relation to this issue during the recent negotiating rounds.
