Rail use is at its highest level since the 1920s: 1.65 billion passenger journeys were made in Great Britain on franchised passenger trains in 2014-15. They have advised that £27.3m has been incurred so far on the project to electrify the line. Work carried out to date has included the structures clearance work, detailed design of the electrification system, and the contract award to ABC Electrification, the main contractor.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The route clearance work is substantially complete and has gone well. This has involved 5 bridges being reconstructed, and 11 track lowerings being undertaken. There is one legacy 0845 850 0095 DVLA Drivers Medical Enquiries fax number published on GOV.UK which is retained for legacy reasons in case some literature with this number is still in circulation. Other numbers have transitioned to 0300 numbers which are charged at standard geographic rate (the same as 01 or 02 numbers) and are free as part of &quot;inclusive minute&quot; packages. Delays and Peak Short formations have not exceeded the Default Performance level as defined in the Franchise Agreement. However, GTR exceeded the breach performance level for cancellations last year and the Secretary of State issued Govia Thameslink Railway with a Remedial Plan Notice requiring them to set out the measures they will take in order to improve performance.
