	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/07/2019 answer text <p>The Department is committed to supporting vulnerable claimants, such as those with mental health conditions. We understand that these claimants may face extra challenges in their lives. Universal Credit is designed to target resources at those that need them most and to provide support for people who cannot work or need extra help moving towards the labour market.</p><p>If a claimant is unable to complete their business transaction through any other channel, a referral for a visit is sent to DWP Visiting. The majority of DWP Visiting work takes place in claimants’ homes, however appointments can be arranged at an alternative place such as a hospital or low secure unit.</p><p>We recognise the importance of understanding how a mental health condition impacts someone’s ability to prepare for and look for work. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/05/2019 answer text <p>Entitlement to Universal Credit (UC) takes into account individual claimant circumstances, such as income, savings, assets and living arrangements. Should a claimant be held under the Mental Health Act 1983 they may not be eligible for UC.</p><p> </p><p>All claimants, including those who with mental health conditions, receive continuous tailored support through their personal work coaches, and all Departmental staff working with claimants complete extensive training that prepares them for their role. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/03/2019 answer text <p>The Community Partner roles were time limited and funded for a two-year period, which comes to an end in March 2019.</p><p> </p><p>The Community Partners have made a valuable contribution including helping us understand good provision better, helping build disability awareness and working with local employers to inform them of advice available and good practice in employing disabled people.</p><p> </p><p>A review of existing roles identified that there was some overlap in the support provided. In order to remove the overlap and focus on key areas, two new job roles will be introduced from April 2019:</p><p> </p><ul><li>A revised Disability Employment Adviser role, bringing together the current role and incorporating elements of the Community Partner and Small Employer Adviser roles.</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>A new Disability Employment Adviser Leader role, to manage a team of Disability Employment Advisers and incorporate the external facing elements of the Community Partner and Small Employer Adviser roles.</li></ul><p> </p><p>These new roles will be instrumental in driving the government’s commitment to providing high quality support to disabled people and those with health conditions. The new roles are initially funded for two years and will be fully embedded in the Jobcentre network. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/03/2019 answer text <p>We currently have no plans to conduct an external evaluation of the work of the Community Partners and the contribution that they have made, but an internal review of the Community Partner role and other disability employment enabling roles identified that there was some overlap in the support provided to claimants. In order to remove the overlap and focus on key areas we are introducing new disability employment roles from April 2019.</p><p> </p><p>We are committed to continually improving the employment support we offer disabled people, including those with mental health conditions, and will ensure valuable learning from the Community Partners is built into the ongoing support we provide through our Jobcentres. We will not be reducing the amount of resource devoted to supporting disabled people into work.</p><p> </p><p>We are investing up to £115 million of programme funding to support the work and health agenda to enable investment in new models and to build the evidence of what works.
