star this property answer text <p>We are leading a whole of Government effort to tackle trade barriers. In the 2022-23 financial year alone, the Department resolved 178 trade barriers.</p><p>Total UK goods trade in 2023 was worth £974.1billion - a 15% increase compared to 2018 in current prices.</p><p>We continue to help businesses trade globally with a wealth of support options on great.gov.uk, including the Export Academy, Export Champions, our International Markets network and UK Export Finance.</p><p>The Department has around 300 staff across our network of Embassies and High Commissions in Europe to resolve market access barriers faced by businesses, promote exports and encourage investments.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>HMG’s Overseas Business Risk guidance provides geopolitical and economic analysis on over 100 overseas markets to new and expanding exporters. The guidance, which is available on GOV.UK, also provides information on potential risks including human rights issues, bribery and corruption, terrorism, criminal activity and intellectual property. Section 6.1 of the guidance for China was updated on 12 January 2021 following a change in the government’s policy on Xinjiang.</p><p>HMG is keen to encourage businesses to share their perspectives on how they are responding to the situation in Xinjiang. Following the update to the guidance, HMG’s Ministers engaged with UK businesses to make clear that they should act without delay to ensure they are not complicit in any way in these gross violations of human rights.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>I have agreed a number of joint statements with partner countries setting out our mutual ambition to ensure continuity of trading relations as the UK leaves the EU, and have already published these as they have been agreed. In July 2017, my noble Friend, the then Minister of State for Trade Policy (Lord Price) agreed such a statement of intent with ministers from the Southern African Customs Union. The table shows each country, grouped by HM Trade Commissioner Region.</p><p>HM Trade Commissioners (HMTCs) have recently been appointed to 5 DIT regions, with a further 4 to be announced shortly.
