star this property answer text <p>The Capacity Market has been designed to mitigate the risks of gaming. If the auction monitor were to find any irregularities, the Secretary of State ultimately has the ability to annul the auction after it has taken place.</p><p>Ofgem has the power to investigate any company bidding into the auction should they consider this necessary.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund closed to new applications on 24<sup>th</sup> July 2014 as the value of applications made to date had reached the available budget.</p><p>However, the Government has a range of other energy efficiency schemes which can help households who need assistance with energy efficiency measures, including for repairing and replacing ‘non-gas’ heating systems. These include Green Deal Finance, the Affordable Warmth element of the Energy Company Obligation and the Renewable Heat Incentive.</p><p>The Government has set up the Energy Saving Advice Service (0300 123 1234) which provides the public with independent advice about these and other energy efficiency schemes.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Wind generators, in the same way as all other industries, are covered by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSWA). This requires them as duty holders to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of their employees and any members of the public who may be affected by their activities.</p><p>There are also well-established British and European standards covering product safety. The HSE performs appropriate regulatory checks on the operation and maintenance of wind turbines and also commissions research as needed. An HSE-commissioned report on risk assessment in the vicinity of wind turbines was published in 2013 and can be viewed online at:</p><p><a href="http://www.hse.gov.uk/research/rrpdf/rr968.pdf" target="_blank">http://www.hse.gov.uk/research/rrpdf/rr968.pdf</a>.</p><p>Offshore wind developers are working together, through the G9 group, to seek solutions to safety challenges to working offshore.
