	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/03/2014 answer text <p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The information requested on entry clearance applications for adult dependent <br />relative settlement visas is not available and could only be obtained at <br />disproportionate cost by the examination of a significant number of individual <br />case records. <br /><br />The Home Office publishes quarterly statistics on entry clearance visa <br />applications and resolutions (issued, refused, withdrawn and lapsed) by <br />category in table be_01_q (Before Entry tables volume 2) within the <br />‘Immigration Statistics' release. A copy of the latest release, ‘Immigration <br />Statistics September – December 2013' is available from the Library of the <br />House and from: <br />https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/home-office/series/immigration-stati<br />stics-quarterly-release.<br /><br />Within the table be_01_q , data relating to adult dependent relatives of a <br />British Citizen in the UK or a settled person in the UK are included in the <br />category ‘Family: Other (for immediate settlement)' but cannot be identified <br />separately.<br /><br />The Home Office is reviewing the collection of data relating to adult dependent <br />relative settlement visas. Data are being developed and, subject to resolving <br />any data quality/recording issues, it is planned to begin publishing data <br />specifically relating to adult dependent relative settlement visas later this <br />year.<br /><br />A manual review of the available management information to identify adult <br />dependent relative applications granted in the period from 1 November 2012 to <br />30 September 2013 indicates that 34 settlement visas were issued in that period <br />to an adult dependent relative under Appendix FM to the Immigration Rules. This <br />information is provisional and subject to change. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/05/2014 answer text <p>The Government is currently considering two issues which have developed and which have potential implications for the consultation.</p><p>In February, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) published helpful research designed to inform the introduction of new legislation on caste, as outlined in the July 2013 announcement. However, that announcement said: ‘<em>...work will also be undertaken to determine information about the extent of caste discrimination in Britain that can be used as a comparative baseline for any future consideration of the effectiveness of caste legislation.'</em></p><p>We had intended to reflect consideration of this work in the public consultation process. However, further discussions between Government and the EHRC about the research needed for it have revealed concerns that not only might this be difficult to commission successfully, but it could be seen as intrusive and might have an adverse effect on good relations in the relevant communities. We are therefore considering how best to proceed with the consultation in the light of this.</p><p>Another recent development is the judgment in the Employment Tribunal case of <em>Tirkey v Chandok</em> which concluded that there is already legal protection against caste discrimination through the race provisions of the Equality Act 2010. National Health Service organisations continue to use the 2001 codes in order to support consistency with other data systems within the NHS. NHS organisations can choose to use either the 2001 or the 2011 categories.</p><p> </p><p>Additional codes can be included as appropriate at a local level to reflect the demographic make-up of the local population. The surveyors employed on the programme are general building surveyors and they perform a visual, non-intrusive survey. In comparison, considerably more detailed surveys are required to assess asbestos and that is why asbestos is not included as part of the Property Data Survey.</p><p>The Department for Education does not have a programme for the phased removal of all asbestos from schools in England. Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations, the employer - either the school or local authority - has clear responsibilities to manage asbestos containing materials in schools safely. The advice from the Health and Safety Executive is that it is safer to leave undisturbed or undamaged asbestos in place and to carefully manage it rather than to risk disturbing or damaging asbestos unnecessarily. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/07/2014 answer text <p>The Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI), launched by the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt. Hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague), and the Special Envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in May 2012, is focused on ending impunity for crimes of sexual violence committed in conflict and the provision of greater support to the survivors of these crimes. Where caste based sexual violence and so-called punishment rape are used in conflict they fall within the overarching objectives of the Initiative.</p><p>PSVI is complemented by wider government activity on tackling violence against women and girls, underpinned by the cross-government action plan, ‘A Call to End Violence against Women and Girls', which sets out the Government's programme of domestic and international work in this area.
