In October last year we published the Internet Safety Strategy green paper. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/11/2017 answer text <p>The Government’s Civil Judicial Cooperation Future Partnership Paper of August 2017 makes clear that an effective framework of civil judicial cooperation, which includes insolvency law, is an important part of the deep and special partnership we want to establish with the EU. It is in the interests of the UK and the EU that there continues to be an effective framework for resolving cross-border legal disputes after we leave.</p><p>This will provide confidence and certainty to families, business and individuals, ensuring they can continue to settle cross-border disputes efficiently and effectively in the future. We are seeking to negotiate a trade agreement that works for all sectors of the economy, including the creative industries.</p><p> </p><p>Government has been working closely with the creative industries to understand the impacts and opportunities presented by our decision to leave the EU, as well as working with them on an early sector deal as part of the Industrial Strategy to secure the sector’s future prosperity and growth. The government believes that broadcasters should be leading the way on improving diversity monitoring in support of this goal, including by voluntarily providing data across all of the equality strands to Ofcom. It is right that voluntary approaches are fully explored before legislative change is considered, and the government urges all parties to work together to improve monitoring of diversity levels. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/03/2018 answer text <p>The Internet Safety Strategy, which forms part of the Digital Charter, will address a wide range of harms, relating both to behaviours and content, which can be experienced online by users. In her speech on 6 February 2018, the Prime Minister confirmed that we would be bringing forward the Government response to the consultation to the measures proposed in the green paper in the spring.</p><p> </p><p>Hate crime is defined in law as any criminal offence which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on a person's actual or perceived committed by reason of the victim's race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or transgender identity. In legislation there are some specific hate crime offences, and provision for enhanced sentences. While some hate speech is illegal under various pieces of legislation, hate speech does not necessarily constitute hate crime, e.g. if it targets other groups.
