star this property answer text <p>I cannot provide an exact start date for construction. However, as stated in Highways England Delivery Plan 2015-2020, construction of the A1(M) Junction 6-8 smart motorway scheme in Hertfordshire is planned to start construction in late in the 2019/20, and complete approximately 12 months later.</p><p> </p><p>The next step is the detailed design and planning of the scheme, plus consultation with the local community to produce the best possible scheme. That work will be taken forward by Highways England and is expected to start shortly.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>There have been no discussions on the A483 upgrade. Progress on the A55/A483 pinch point scheme was discussed with Highways England in February 2015. The outcome of the discussion was that the completion date for the scheme would be rescheduled to 10 May 2015, as set out in the answer of 2 March (UIN 225319). The scheme completion date has since been rescheduled to 28 June 2015.</p> more like this

Prior to construction work starting, a public exhibition was held on 5 September 2014, with a further public exhibition on 11 December 2014.</p><p> </p><p>Throughout the project, other information has been provided for motorists via:</p><p> </p><p>· Local radio messages, live radio interviews advising motorists to use alternative routes;</p><p> </p><p>· On-site visitor centre;</p><p> </p><p>· Temporary roadside signs;</p><p> </p><p>· Portable electronic message signs on the M56 Motorway just before the junction with the M53 (the M53 continues as the A55);</p><p> </p><p>· Press releases and Twitter feed updates.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The figures for Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) in England for those three years (rounded to the nearest £m) are as follows:</p><p>· 2013-14 - £298 million;</p><p>· 2014-15 - £251 million (estimated);</p><p>· 2015-16 - £240 million (projected).</p><p> </p><p>Since 1 October 2013, the BSOG which was previously paid to bus operators for running bus services under franchise to Transport for London (TfL) in London has been incorporated into the general grant paid to TfL and the Greater London Authority. The figures given above exclude some £47 million paid to TfL/GLA in this way for 2013/14 and some £93 million paid to them for each of 2014/15 and 2015/16.</p><p> </p><p>So, the figures given for the three years above are made up of (i) BSOG paid to bus companies and community transport operators for running services outside London, (ii) BSOG devolved to local transport authorities in the five areas which have been designated as Better Bus Areas, and (iii) BSOG for tendered (non-commercially viable) services outside London for which the funding has been devolved to individual local authorities since 1 January 2014.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>The Government remains committed to improving bus services for all and expenditure on buses reflects this. It is for individual local authorities to determine how much of the block grant funding they receive is allocated to supporting bus services. The latest out-turn figures, for 2013/14, show that Cumbria County Council has an annual budget of over £2.5m for this purpose.</p><p> </p><p>The Department also provides direct support to bus services each year through Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG), of which Cumbria County Council has received £480,314 covering the 2014/15 financial year.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this
