star this property answer text <p>As a Government Major Project, the 100,000 Genomes Project has been under regular review by the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) which provides independent assurance of the most complex and strategically significant projects across Government. As part of this, the 100,000 Genomes Project has undergone several significant reviews which considered the Project’s delivery, requiring the collation of extensive documentation evidencing the progress of the Project and several days of interviews with key stakeholders. Conclusions of each review were shared across delivery partners to inform successful delivery of the Project.</p><p>The Department, Genomics England and NHS England recognised the importance in embedding robust testing, assessment and evaluation throughout the delivery of the Project to inform the introduction of whole genome sequencing in the National Health Service under the new Genomics Medicine Service.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>NHS England is engaging with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) on the Highly Specialised Technologies evaluation of human alpha1-proteinase inhibitor for treating emphysema in adults with documented severe alpha1 antitrypsin deficiency. NICE has not yet published final guidance and recently consulted on its draft guidance.</p><p> </p><p>NICE’s evaluation committee is due to meet again to consider its recommendations in spring next year. This is to enable the company that makes the alpha1-proteinase inhibitor to prepare and submit additional information for consideration by the committee. Once NICE guidance is received, NHS England will then consider the commissioning implications in consultation with the Specialised Respiratory Clinical Reference Group.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Specialised Respiratory Clinical Reference Group (CRG) is maintaining an oversight of the need to develop a service specification and selection of providers to offer specialised expertise and management advice for patients diagnosed with alpha1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD).</p><p> </p><p>The CRG has recommended that NHS England wait until it is clear on the outcome of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Highly Specialised Technologies evaluation of human alpha1-proteinase inhibitor for treating emphysema in adults with documented severe AATD [ID856] until this development is taken forward.</p><p> </p><p>NICE has not yet published final guidance and recently consulted on its draft guidance. NICE’s evaluation committee is due to meet again to consider its recommendations in spring next year. This is to enable the company that makes the alpha1-proteinase inhibitor to prepare and submit additional information for consideration by the committee.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>All abortion providers must comply with legal requirements and have regard to any statutory guidance relating to safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All providers must have policies and protocols in place for dealing with these groups. Health professionals are required to be competent in child protection and are expected to participate in regular training to update their skills. All clinical staff working in abortion services should be trained to at least level 3 of the intercollegiate framework, Safeguarding Children and Young people: roles and competences for health care staff. Providers should have protocols in place for obtaining consent and pathways and support for all women who lack capacity to consent. Officials meet regularly with abortion service providers and discuss a range of issues.</p><p> </p> more like this
