star this property answer text <p>Our probation staff do a vital and challenging job reforming offenders and protecting the public.</p><p>In 2017, HMPPS benchmarked the pay ranges within the NPS and found them appropriate and in alignment with other public sector workforces. The time taken for new staff to reach the top of their probation pay scale is judged against them acquiring the unique and necessary skills and competencies to be a proficient probation officer. This is not comparable to the time taken to progress in other public sector roles.</p> more like this

The Department is not party to the contracts which exist between the service providers and the individual NHS trusts. If patients do not wish to or are unable to afford the cost of the bedside television, they should still be able to watch the free to view television in the hospital day room or communal areas.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is continuing to encourage applications for research in this difficult area. The NIHR is also planning and funding workshops via the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission to support researchers in submitting high quality research applications in order to increase this small research community.</p><p>Spending Review 2020 provides £260 million to continue to increase the National Health Service workforce and support commitments made in the NHS Long Term Plan, including continuing to take forward the Cancer Workforce Plan - Phase One. Full details on funding allocations towards NHS workforce budgets, including Health Education England, in 2021-22 will be published in due course. This will cover the whole cancer workforce including those providing services for brain cancer patients.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Public Contract Regulations 2015 introduced an obligation for public bodies to exclude suppliers from a procurement where the supplier has been found guilty of breaching its obligations in relation to payment of taxes and this has been established by a judicial or administrative decision. Central procurement policy requires any business bidding for central Government contracts over £5 million to self-certify whether there have been any occasions of non-compliance with regard to their tax obligations. The aim of the procurement policy is to promote tax compliance. Suppliers that engage in non-compliant activity risk losing access to larger Government contracts.</p><p> </p><p>Many businesses, including those delivering Government contracts, operate on an international basis and parts of those businesses will be operating in countries outside of the United Kingdom. Their tax liability will be subject to the rules of the tax jurisdiction in which they are operating.</p><p> </p> more like this
