We are tracking the use of new psychoactive substances (which captures synthetic cannabinoids such as those in 'spice') though the annual Drug Misuse publication, which found that NPS use in England and Wales has fallen from 0.7 per cent in 2015/16 to 0.4 per cent in 2016/17. We recognise that some areas still have problems with synthetic cannabinoids and strongly support the multi-agency approach taken to tackle this.</p> more like this

Decisions about the selection and purchase of police equipment are primarily for chief officers of police. The Home Office Centre for Applied Science and Technology provides scientific and technical advice to support the police, including the development and management of protective equipment standards, such as body armour and personal defence sprays.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Before the police funding settlement, I spoke and received written submissions from leaders in police forces in England and Wales. Police leaders - especially in England where referendum limits apply - were clear that they wanted additional flexibility to increase funding through precept. I heard their messages and responded by allowing increases of an average £1 per month in England, enabling each PCC to maintain their funding in real terms next year.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The new National Economic Crime Centre has £6m in funding allocated to it in the 18/19 financial year. <br> <br>The Home Office is working with partners across government, law enforcement, regulators and the private sector on the design of the National Economic Crime Centre. It is too early in the design and build process to confirm final staffing numbers.</p><p>Home Office and law enforcement agencies are working together to determine the size of the team that will lead the work to use the power in the Criminal Finances Act 2017 to forfeit criminal money held in suspended bank accounts. We have not yet determined the exact size of that team.</p><p>Decisions on the overall funding of the SFO, NCA and other law enforcement agencies is agreed through the Spending Review process.</p><p>The inaugural meeting of the Economic Crime Strategic Board will take place in the first quarter of 2018.</p> more like this
