As the Minister for Women and Equalities set out in May of this year, responses to that consultation will inform legislation, which is being prepared for Spring 2022. Given the cross-cutting nature of conversion therapy, survivors of the practice may be engaging a range of public services including helplines and support relating to domestic abuse, homelessness and hate crime. The support will be available to whoever considers themselves to be at risk of - or has undergone - conversion therapy, whatever the circumstances.</p><p>The importance of developing a quality service is of central importance and we are working at pace to explore delivery options available to realise this commitment. We want to hear from a wide range of voices on how best to protect people from conversion therapy while ensuring the medical profession can continue to work in line with best practice, defending freedom of speech, and upholding religious freedom.
