star this property answer text <p>The Harbour Docks and Piers Clauses Act 1847 aims to ensure that ports are available to all without discrimination. It would not be an appropriate legal instrument for port authorities to use to introduce an effective barrier to what is a legal trade. This has been demonstrated by a series of High Court judgements , the most recent being the High Court judgment in <em>Barco de Vapor BV and others v Thanet District Council</em> 2014 EWHC 490.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>(a) Live sheep exported from the UK to EU Member States from 1 January 2016 to 31 October 2016:</p><p> </p><ul><li><p><strong>UK to Republic of Ireland 337,385</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>UK to EU (except Republic of Ireland) 48,039</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Total to all EU Member States 385,424</strong></p></li></ul><p>(b) Live cattle exported from the UK to EU Member States from 1 January 2016 to 31 October 2016:</p><p> </p><ul><li><p><strong>UK to Republic of Ireland 12,159</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>UK to EU (except Republic of Ireland) 21,702</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Total to all EU Member States 33,861 </strong></p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p>These figures have been collated from the EU Commission’s Trade Control and Expert System (TRACES) Data Warehouse and include trade to Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland (European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries) who accept EU trade.</p><p> </p><p>The figures include sheep and cattle exported for the purposes of breeding, production/fattening and slaughter.</p>
