	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/12/2018 answer text <p>HMG is continually monitoring developments in the US economy, which have a substantial influence on the global economy and directly impact on UK-US trade.</p><p> </p><p>In line with the IMF’s forecast, the Office for Budget Responsibility expects US GDP growth of 2.9 and 2.5 per cent in 2018 and 2019 respectively.</p><p> </p><p>The US is the UK’s largest trading partner and the UK’s top export destination. These cover issues such as mutual recognition for technical regulations in certain sectors. The UK has now completed work to transition these agreements, where relevant, to bilateral UK-US agreements – ready to come into effect once the UK leaves the EU.</p><p> </p><p>On 14 February, the UK and US signed the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) on Conformity Assessment. Other agreements, including on wine, spirits and marine equipment have been signed between the UK and US to ensure continuity as the UK leaves the EU.</p><p> </p><p>These agreements do not cover the bulk of UK trade with the US (our single largest bilateral trading partner). These cover issues such as mutual recognition of conformity assessment in certain sectors. The UK has now completed work to transition these agreements to bilateral UK-US agreements. Both the EU and US are members of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/03/2018 answer text <p>We are seeking the greatest possible barrier-free trade with our European neighbours, alongside the ability to negotiate our own ambitious trade agreements around the world.</p><p> </p><p>The US is already our largest single trading partner, accounting for around 15% of total UK trade, worth around £166bn billion in 2016. We expect the US to remain a key trading partner as we leave the EU and have already established a Trade and Investment Working Group to strengthen our bilateral trade and investment relationship.</p><p> </p><p>Close regulatory alignment with the EU could take many different forms.
