You may be aware that a number of UK-wide projects are already in development such as the lighting of Jubilee Beacons. star this property answer text <p>As outlined in the Command Paper on legacy published in July, the Government remains committed to furthering reconciliation in Northern Ireland and has set out proposals for doing so.</p><p>These proposals include initiatives that aim to facilitate thoughtful and inclusive commemoration and reflection on the past for people of all backgrounds, building on the Oral History Archive proposed in the Stormont House Agreement.</p><p>The Government’s proposals reflect, and continue to inform, bilateral and multilateral engagement with key stakeholders - including academic experts and the victims sector. We are still listening to, and carefully considering different views to ensure commemorative measures are appropriate and effective.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK Government welcomes the UN Special Rapporteurs’ ongoing interest in Northern Ireland legacy issues, and acknowledges the importance and value of their mission and objectives.</p><p> </p><p>While we respectfully disagree with some of the Special Rapporteurs’ assessments regarding the legacy proposals outlined in the Command Paper published in July, we continue to engage with the Special Rapporteurs through established channels.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is committed to dealing with legacy issues in a way that supports information recovery and reconciliation, complies with international human rights obligations, and responds to the needs of individual victims and survivors, as well as society as a whole.</p><p> </p><p>The Government welcomes comments as it continues to engage in its proposals, and will reflect carefully on what we have heard as we consider our next steps.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>There has been significant interest in the Community Renewal Fund in Northern Ireland, with bids submitted by a wide range of applicants across all of the Fund’s investment strands. Applications have been assessed for strategic fit, deliverability and value for money. Successful projects will be announced in due course by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.</p><p>The UK Government has an ambitious plan to level up across the UK and the £220m Community Renewal Fund will help achieve this in Northern Ireland. By focusing on investment in skills, employment, net zero initiatives, local business and community and place, we will be making positive changes to communities right across the United Kingdom. The UK Government will ensure this investment makes a significant impact across Northern Ireland.</p> more like this

These are non-statutory appointments for which no remuneration is payable.</p><p> </p><p>The Advisory Committee will provide an independent advisory function to the Secretary of State and will report directly to him within a period of six months.
