star this property answer text <p>From April 2017 to present, the Government Equalities Office has spent £3,199 on International Women’s Day celebrations.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, the GEO has taken the opportunity to promote IWD through our communications activity and through any events that happen to take place on or around 9 March.</p><p> </p><p>Due to historic machinery of government changes, GEO does not hold specific spend information for International Women's Day, for the years preceding 2017. Whilst the Department for Education will hold detailed records of transactions from 2015, it will not be able to identify International Women's Day spend.</p> more like this

We are considering the scope for further support and protection for people with mental health conditions.</p><p> </p><p>The Equality Act 2010 already protects people whose mental health conditions meet the definition of disability in the Act, specifically a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial and long-term adverse effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day to day activities’.</p> more like this

Friend for Portsmouth North, told the Women and Equalities Select Committee in December 2018 she had commissioned a programme to enable the Equalities Office to better engage with women’s organisations.This was a programme of work and not a formal review of engagement. The programme is reaching organisations across the country and includes a City Listening project in Bristol, Leicester and Leeds where forums are being held for women to make their voices better heard by policy makers.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>No one should be held back from reaching their potential because of their gender. This is why the former Minister for Women and Equalities, my Rt Hon. Friend for Portsmouth North, announced a cross-sectoral Taskforce that looks beyond those in schools to other vulnerable groups in society. The Taskforce includes an ‘Access for all’ workstream which, as part of its remit, will review existing initiatives designed to provide period products to vulnerable groups, identify gaps and highlight the groups on which potential new interventions should focus. star this property answer text <p>We are clear that Parliament must be representative, and that it is for parties to ensure that they select a diverse range of candidates, and that their selection processes are responsive to known barriers.</p><p> </p><p>However, the Suffrage Centenary Fund supported around 320 projects across the country including events encouraging nearly 800 women to stand for election, creating a pipeline of talent ready to enter public life. The Fund also provides a valuable model for further consideration of Government action in the future.</p> more like this

Mermaids were allocated funding through the LGBT Consortium on the Anti-homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying programme 2016-2019 and this funding ceased at the end of the programme in March 2019. A separate extension to this programme was retendered from January 2019 to March 2020 and Mermaids did not receive any funding through this process.</p> more like this
