	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/03/2019 answer text <p>An appliance exemption shows that fuel-burning appliances, for example stoves, ovens or boilers, emit smoke below the acceptable limits.</p><p> </p><p>Applicants must be able to prove that their appliance meets the necessary requirements and has been tested using acceptable methods at an accredited test centre.</p><p> </p><p>The emission limits applicable to appliances are dependent on the size of the appliance. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/05/2019 answer text <p>In October 2018 the UK Government staged the largest ever international illegal wildlife trade conference in London, where we reaffirmed our commitment to and leadership in tackling this trade across the globe. The Conference Declaration was signed by 64 countries and builds on commitments made at the previous illegal wildlife trade conferences in London, Kasane and Hanoi. The UK is investing more than £36 million between 2014 and 2021 to take action to counter the trade, including work to reduce demand, strengthen enforcement, ensure effective legal frameworks and develop sustainable livelihoods. <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/declaration-london-conference-on-the-illegal-wildlife-trade-2018" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/declaration-london-conference-on-the-illegal-wildlife-trade-2018</a></p><p> </p><p>We have made progress in key areas in the six months since the London 2018 conference, including a successful workshop in Vietnam to look at ways to tackle the demand for illegally traded species and products; the establishment and first deployment of a new counter-poaching partnership programme to deliver counter-poaching training for African park rangers; and progress with the WILDLABS Tech Hub which aims to harness the power of technology, data sharing and machine learning to combat wildlife crime. We also announced 14 new schemes that will each receive a share of £4.6 million from the Illegal Wildlife Trade Challenge Fund, and new education resources for schoolchildren around the globe that aim to teach the next generation about the dangers of fuelling the illegal wildlife trade. <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-government-supports-global-action-to-fight-illegal-wildlife-trade" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-government-supports-global-action-to-fight-illegal-wildlife-trade</a></p><p> </p><p>In December 2018 we passed tough new legislation to close our domestic ivory market. These obligations are effected in the UK through the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations. The issuance of CITES import, export and re-export permits is administered in the UK by the Animal and Plant Health Agency. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/04/2019 answer text <p>This is a devolved matter and the information provided therefore relates to England only.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s November 2017 ‘S<a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/661803/sps-ofwat-2017.pdf" target="_blank">trategic policy statement</a> to Ofwat’, the economic regulator for the water industry, challenged the water industry to do more for vulnerable customers in England, including older people. In Ofwat’s Price Review 2019 process in which water companies set out their business plans for 2020-25, Ofwat required companies to set out in their business plans how they would better identify and support those customers who need financial help. Work on the plans is ongoing.</p><p> </p><p>Current support includes the Government mandated WaterSure scheme which enables water companies to cap bills for eligible low income customers using a lot of water for essential family or health reasons. All water companies also offer schemes, known as social tariffs, for eligible customers on low incomes or receiving specific benefits. Approximately 400,000 household customers currently benefit from such water bill support schemes.</p><p> </p><p>Legislative powers recently put in place in the Digital Economy Act 2017 allow data sharing between water companies and other organisations, including Government departments such as the Department for Work and Pensions. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/04/2019 answer text <p>Policy relating to water pollution from agricultural activity is a devolved matter and the information provided therefore relates to England only.</p><p> </p><p>The Secretary of State meets farmers regularly to discuss a variety of important issues, including water pollution caused by agriculture.</p><p> </p><p>Defra has recently run several public consultations relevant to water pollution from agriculture, including from fertiliser use. Farmers have been invited to contribute to the Dame Glenys Stacy review of farm inspections and the Clean Air Strategy.
