	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/09/2019 answer text <p>The UK is monitoring the humanitarian impact being felt in the south of Yemen.</p><p> </p><p>Although Aden port remains operational, we are concerned by a backlog of 15,000 containers waiting to be processed. Working with state and local governments, GPEI provides additional training and safety measure to protect health workers working in high risk and volatile settings. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/09/2019 answer text <p>The UK works closely with the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) to support their efforts in promoting and delivering polio vaccination programmes in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria. We follow developments closely in country through DFID country office staff and through our engagement with GPEI headquarters in Geneva. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/09/2019 answer text <p>The UK is monitoring the humanitarian impact felt in the south of Yemen.</p><p> </p><p>The UN has so far verified 13 civilian deaths and 70 civilian injuries since fighting escalated and has reported over 1,600 families and 1,000 individuals have been displaced to northern governates in August.</p><p> </p><p>Major overland routes in the south have closed and a backlog of 15,000 containers in Aden port waiting to be processed. In a conflict context, where the state authorities are unable or unwilling to do this, international accountability mechanisms may be invoked, as appropriate.
