star this property answer text <p>The Youth Endowment Fund has been established to operate independently of Government and publishes information about its activities here: <a href="https://impetus.org.uk/youth-endowment-fund.%20" target="_blank">https://impetus.org.uk/youth-endowment-fund. </a><br>The Youth Endowment Fund has launched a first call for proposals.</p><p>This is an open call, to fund and evaluate interventions primarily targeting young people aged 10-14 who are at risk of being drawn into crime and violence.</p><p>This first funding round is due to close on the 23 July. Once closed, the Youth Endowment Fund will collate and release figures on the number of applicants and will include breakdowns for geography and the different categories of applicants. star this property answer text <p>The Home Office will be providing funding for DIVERT from the Early Intervention Youth Fund from November 2018 to March 2020. Funding for projects aimed at early intervention and prevention will be considered as part of our spending review plans.</p><p>There will also be opportunities for those seeking to deliver interventions to steer children and young people away from serious violence to apply for funding from the Youth Endowment Fund. Operating over ten years, the £200m Fund will work with charities, statutory services, communities, young people and others to develop and fund the most promising interventions. star this property answer text <p>It is the responsibility of the police to investigate allegations of domestic abuse.</p><p>HMICFRS’ latest inspection on domestic abuse found that the police response continues to improve, particularly around the first response. Furthermore, police recorded domestic abuse crimes have increased by over 60% in the last three years, demonstrating increased victim confidence to report and better police recording of these crimes. Overall, prosecutions and convictions for domestic abuse are both up since 2010 – by 20 per cent and 28 per cent respectively, with 76% of all prosecutions resulting in successful convictions, the highest since 2010.</p><p><br>Our landmark draft Domestic Abuse Bill and consultation response published in January includes measures to help the police tackle domestic abuse, including the creation of a Domestic Abuse Protection Notice and Order and training for police. We will continue to monitor the police response through the Home Secretary chaired National Oversight Group and through HMICFRS inspections.</p>

star this property answer text <p>Our Early Intervention Youth Fund of £22 million is already supporting 29 projects in England and Wales. Over £17 million has already been allocated to projects delivering interventions to young people at risk of criminal involvement, gang exploitation and county lines.</p><p>We will shortly be appointing an independent evaluation partner who will support projects with their monitoring arrangements and will gather qualitative and quantitative data. This work will contribute to a programme wide evaluation, including an overview of what we have learnt about good practice. The projects will also be required to provide regular updates on their progress as part of their grant agreements.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government’s Serious Violence Strategy, published April 2018, summarises the risk and protective factors for violence identified by research.</p><p>The Strategy suggests that school exclusion is a marker for increased risk both in terms of victimisation and perpetration. Whilst this does not mean there is a causal link, the Government recognises there are complex and multiple vulnerabilities that can impact on children’s outcomes and is accordingly taking action to address this.</p><p>The Home Office and Department for Education continue to work together to deliver the commitment in the strategy to consider support for pupils at risk of exclusion as well as for those who have been excluded, to reduce the risk of them being drawn into crime and associated pathways.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Strategy sets out an ambitious programme to make tackling VAWG everybody’s business.</p><p>Over this spending review period, we are providing £100 million of dedicated funding to tackle VAWG. VAWG services are mainly commissioned at a local level by Police and Crime Commissioners, local authorities and health commissioners. The Government’s VAWG National Statement of Expectations encourages such decisions to be taken at a local level and driven by local need.</p><p>We created a £17 million 3-year VAWG Service Transformation Fund, which is funding projects across 41 areas in England and Wales to embed local best practice and ensure that early intervention and prevention, not crisis response, is the norm.</p><p>Over £2.4m is supporting six London Boroughs, including Lewisham, to deliver domestic abuse focused projects aiming to prevent future or further perpetration and protect victims and survivors.</p><p>£900,000 is supporting three innovative prevention programmes, in Sutton, Lambeth and Waltham Forest, and £1.4m of the funding is supporting projects to enhance the support and response for victims of domestic abuse. More details of the funding are available at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/violence-against-women-and-girls-service-transformation-fund-successful-bids-2017-to-2020" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/violence-against-women-and-girls-service-transformation-fund-successful-bids-2017-to-2020</a></p><p>Additionally, the Mayors Office of Policing and Crime (MOPAC) are being provided with £2.86M to 2020 from the Police Transformation Fund to support the Drive project, a preventative response to priority high risk perpetrators of domestic abuse</p><p>The Home Office also supports the national VAWG Helplines and recently committed funding of up to £1.1m per annum for these services until 2021.</p>
