star this property answer text <p>The 2nd Permanent Secretary to the Treasury explained to the PAC on the 10 December 2014 (see link below) the process for Business Case approvals within Government. The first stage of this process, the Strategic Outline Business Case, was agreed for Universal Credit in September 2014. The next step, the Outline Business Case, is now with Treasury Ministers for approval. The Full Business Case will follow for Ministerial approval by the end of 2017. star this property answer text <p>Universal Credit will provide the right incentives for people to work, target support at those who need it most, reduce fraud and error, and streamline the administration of the welfare system. star this property answer text <p>In September 2017, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)’s Jointly Managed Engagement Team received 404 referrals from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) where the Universal Credit award was being disputed. HMRC estimate that approximately 72 of those referrals relate to the earnings figures received through Real Time Information (RTI). Of the volume of earnings information received through RTI and sent to DWP in that same month the referrals relating to the earnings figure represented less than 0.1%.</p> more like this
