	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/11/2018 answer text <p>The UK contributed 25% of the costs of the first ever cholera vaccination campaigns in Yemen early this year, through our funding to the Global Vaccines Alliance. This has helped to protect nearly a million men, women and children.</p><p> </p><p>Last year, we provided over £8 million in targeted cholera support to UNICEF and the International Organization for Migration. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/11/2018 answer text <p>The UK has played a leading role in helping secure vital access for food, fuel, and medicine into and throughout Yemen. Last year when Red Sea port access was restricted after a Houthi ballistic missile attack on Riyadh’s civilian airport, UK diplomacy including a visit from the Secretary of State for Development to Riyadh led to the ports being fully reopened. As a part of this effort, the UK provides £1.3 million to the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism to give the Coalition confidence that weapons are not coming in to Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen on commercial ships. Red Sea ports remain fully operational and continue to import most of the food and fuel on which Yemenis rely.</p><p> </p><p>As we have consistently made clear, the Houthis must facilitate access throughout areas they control which is where most of the population live. As penholder on Yemen in the UN Security Council, the UK continues to call on all parties to comply with the UNSC Presidential Statements of June 2017 and March 2018, which insist that all parties facilitate safe, rapid, and unhindered access for both the humanitarian response and commercial supplies.</p><p> </p><p>On 3 April, the UK announced an additional £170 million in response to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen for this financial year (2018/2019). The UK funded a project in the 2017/2018 financial year which supported civil society to advocate changes to the Press and Publication Law. This amended law is currently at its third reading in the Palestinian Authority (PA) Cabinet and we continue to push for its adoption. The Human Rights Watch report has made some serious and concerning allegations about human rights violations by the PA and we have raised our concerns with the Palestinian Ministry of Interior. We have frequently raised our concerns with the Israeli authorities at senior levels, including with the Israeli Prime Minister and Israeli Attorney General, urging them not to go ahead with their plan to demolish the village. Officials from our Consulate General in Jerusalem continue to visit Khan al-Ahmar, most recently on 18 December. The same day, our Permanent Representative to the UN made clear during a UN Security Council debate on the situation in the Middle East that &quot;we welcome the temporary postponement of plans to demolish the Bedouin community of Khan al-Ahmar but we remain gravely concerned about the fate of this community&quot;. The United Nations has said this demolition could amount to forcible transfer in violation of International Humanitarian Law. As I have said before in this Chamber, the Israeli Government is not obligated to demolish Khan al-Ahmar.
