star this property answer text <p>There are three Medical Deployability Standard (MDS) categories for the Armed Forces. Medically Fully Deployable (MFD) personnel are those medically fit for duty with no employment limitations. Medically Limited Deployable (MLD) personnel are medically fit for duty with minor employment limitations. MLD personnel may have a medical condition or functional limitation that prevents the meeting of all Medically Fully Deployable (MFD) requirements. Medically Not Deployable (MND) personnel are medically fit for duty with major employment limitations. MND personnel are not fit to deploy on operations but may be deployable on UK-based exercises.</p><p>For the numbers of UK Regular Armed Forces and UK Future Reserves 2020 personnel in each MDS category in each year up to 2017, I refer the hon. Member to the answer the previous Minister for Defence People and Veterans (Tobias Ellwood), gave him on 8 November 2017, to Question 110876.</p><p>The attached table provides the number and percentage of UK Regular Armed Forces in each MDS category, by Service as at 1 April 2018 and 1 April 2019. These figures include full-time trained and serving personnel against requirement. This was the deployable population.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is currently examining the number, training and requirement of military gender advisors.</p><p>Over the past 12 months, the MOD has deployed gender advisors to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Iraq (in order to train the Kurdish Security Forces (KSF); approximately 700 KSF have been trained so far). The MOD will also be deploying one gender advisor to the United Nations Headquarters to support the United Nations' military advisor to the Secretary-General on gender issues.</p><p>The MOD's cultural advisors have undertaken over 60 deployments over the past 12 months, to locations such as Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Nigeria, Ghana, Angola, Mozambique and Bosnia.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As at 1 January 2024, there were 138,100 UK Forces personnel, of which 132,360 are based in-country.</p><p> </p><p>As at 1 January 2024 there were 32,650 Future Reserves 2020 (FR20) of which an estimated 32,310 are based in-country.</p><p> </p><p>The stationed location data for Future Reserves 2020 (FR20) Reserves has not been fully verified, therefore the figure provided is considered to be an estimate. Future Reserves 2020 includes volunteer reserves who are mobilised, HRR and volunteer reserve personnel serving on Additional Duties Commitment (ADC) or FTRS contracts.</p><p> </p><p>Figures have been rounded to the nearest 10 to prevent inadvertent disclosure.
