star this property answer text <p>As laid out in my response to Question 169217, achieving Initial Operating Capability (IOC) requires 50 vehicles to be delivered in total. In addition to the 27 identified for the deployable squadron, the remaining 23 will be used by the Army to train crews and maintainers.</p><p> </p><p>It is anticipated that circa 115 trained, deployable personnel will be required at IOC as crew, however the precise breakdown will be determined closer to the time depending on operational requirements.</p> more like this

Ajax remains wholly relevant to future warfighting and forms a vital part of the Army system of systems that enables combined arms operations. The open digital architecture and capacity to upgrade Ajax through life ensures it can integrate new systems and evolve to meet emerging threats. As we progressively bring the platform into service, we will continue to test our employment assumptions against the lessons of current conflicts to maximise the opportunities that AJAX presents as part of a combined arms force.</p> more like this

General Dynamics bore all of their costs associated with this activity and the Ministry of Defence bore approximately £650,000 in costs for the preparation, execution and analysis of the independent monitoring and instrumentation necessary for these joint trials.</p> more like this
