star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to maintaining transparency about its procurement activity and publishes information about its contracts with a value of over £10,000 on the “<a href="https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Search" target="_blank">Contracts Finder</a>” website.</p><p> </p><p>Contracts that are due to be agreed can be found on the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/hm-treasury-commercial-pipeline" target="_blank">HMT Commercial Pipeline</a>. The next version of this is due be published at the end of July 2022.</p><p> </p><p>The amount spent on monitoring each contract and the number of officials working on that monitoring each year since 2010 is information that is not held centrally and can only be provided at a disproportionate cost.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Contracts are awarded to suppliers submitting the most economically advantageous tender demonstrating the delivery of value for money.</p><p> </p><p>Crown Commercial Service, who act as HM Treasury’s commercial arm, have a policy of always considering social value, and building it into its commercial agreements wherever it is appropriate.</p><p> </p><p>The Government wants UK companies to be successful in public procurement but it is unlawful to negatively assess a bid from a foreign supplier, or a supplier with a foreign supply chain.</p> more like this

There are clauses about interaction between the parties, how to protect the parties’ best interests and safeguard commercial and sensitive information which have been present in government contracts for a long time. These clauses are not intended to stop criticism of Ministers, the Department or its policies.</p>

Calculating this cost at any point in time would require an assessment of market rates for both debt and equity, an estimate of future equity cashflows and subcontractor termination costs.
