star this property answer text <p>Temporary exclusion orders have been used several times since they were introduced in 2015.</p><p>The last publication of the Annual Transparency Report on Disruptive and Investigative Powers published in February 2017 confirmed that the power had not been used as at the date of that publication.</p><p>The next Annual Transparency Report, due for publication in Spring 2018, will confirm how many times the power has been used during 2017.</p><p>The Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 requires a permit to return to be issued to facilitate the return of a UK national who is subject to a temporary exclusion order, if the subject applies for one, or if they are being deported to the UK. Permits to return have been issued on several occasions.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Schedule 1 to the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 enables police officers at ports to seize and temporarily retain travel documents to disrupt immediate travel, when they reasonably suspect that a person intends to travel to engage in terrorism related activity outside the UK.</p><p>Between February and December 2015, the power was exercised 24 times.</p><p>We aim to publish figures on an annual basis, and we will publish information on the use of the power during 2016 and 2017 shortly in the 2018 Government transparency report.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Defence’s budget is growing year on year over the spending review period. We received a record settlement for Defence in 2020 of £16.5 billion. From 2019-20, the total Defence budget’s annual growth is 1.5% in real terms, with CDEL increasing from £10.3 billion in 2019-20 to £16.2 billion in 2024-25, and RDEL increasing from £30.6 billion to £32.4 billion.</p><p>This year Defence also received over £2 billion additional funding for running costs to counteract costs arising from the Health and Social Care Levy and expected increases in inflation in the wider economy.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Cabinet Office grant governance standards require grants to be reviewed at least annually, taking into account delivery across the period. This then results in a decision to continue, discontinue, amend funding levels or the scope of the Grant. A multi-year grant process would inhibit the outcomes of these reviews and commercial assurance processes from being implemented.</p><p>It is important that the Home Office ensures that the Recipient has managed the Grant in line with Government standards and that the Grant continues to represent value for money for the tax payer.</p> more like this
