star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence is not aware of any EU cyber exercises planned for this year. With regards to NATO exercises, I refer the hon. Member to the answer given by my hon. Friend the Minister for International Security Strategy (Dr Andrew Murrison) on 5 March 2014, (Official Report, column 846W), to the hon. Member for Mid Sussex (Nicholas Soames). There are seven NATO wide cyber exercises planned for 2014. Whilst the UK is planning to participate in a NATO cyber exercise during November 2014, the exact nature of the participation is still being finalised.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p> </p><p>(holding answer 31 March 2014)</p><p> </p><p>The Chancellor's Budget statement did not change the Ministry of Defence (MOD)'s budgetary position until 2015-16 from that set out at the Autumn Statement in December 2013.</p><p> </p><p>The Treasury has confirmed that Defence's overall position remains unchanged as a result of the Budget: there has been no change to the MOD's budgetary baseline for 2015-16.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The 70<sup>th</sup> Anniversary D-Day commemorative events in Portsmouth are being organised by Portsmouth City Council, and the military is supporting the event as requested. Similarly, the Services are supporting events planned by the Normandy Veterans Association (NVA). The Department is unable to predict the numbers who may be present at any of these events and has received no requests to facilitate attendance.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry of Defence was made aware of Portsmouth City Council's planned events in April 2013. We were informed about the majority of NVA events in February 2013, and the National Memorial Arboretum event in November 2013. We have been working closely with the Royal British Legion and the NVA on the planned events to mark this significant anniversary, and have ensured that a range of Service charities and associations are kept informed, including COBSEO, the Confederation of Service Charities.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The cross-Government lead on the next NSS and SDSR sits with Cabinet Office. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is engaged with them and other interested Departments. MOD is in the very early stages of identifying those areas which may require further work or which we may wish to look at in 2015 as part of the Cabinet Office-led process.
