star this property answer text <p>The Government Legal Department (GLD) does not own any estate but rents all of its office space. GLD teams co-located with their client teams occupy client building space as part of an overall fee agreement for the provision of legal services to clients.</p><p>The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) estate is comprised of 42 buildings with the types of occupation shown in the table below. star this property answer text <p>As a default position, the Civil Service will ‘Ban the Box’ when it advertises job vacancies.</p><p>There are some business areas across the Civil Service where it will be inappropriate to apply Ban the Box. This will only occur where there is a clear, justifiable business need to understand a candidate’s conviction history at the application stage in the recruitment process. An exception is most likely to apply to roles that are particularly sensitive in nature, for example; work with children and vulnerable adults of positions connected to public safety. Permanent Secretaries are accountable for the exceptions process. The Cabinet Office do not hold a central record of which civil service roles were not identified as suitable for the Ban the Box initiative.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Burdens on smaller regulators were raised in the <em>Regulatory Futures Review</em> with regard to the implementation of the 2016 Enterprise Act’s provisions for independent scrutiny of the impact on business of regulatory changes. The Public Accounts Committee also recommended an approach to assessing impacts (Recommendation 6 of its 2016-17 report on Better Regulation – HC 487). In light of both reports ministers modified the Better Regulation System to make it more proportionate for both departments and regulators as reflected in the <em>Interim Guidance on the Better Regulation</em> <em>Framework</em> published by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on 22 February 2018.</p> more like this
