	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/11/2018 answer text <p>Senior Civil Servants (SCS) are contracted to work a minimum (over a 5 day week) either 41 or 42 hours, including daily meal breaks for one hour. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/09/2019 answer text <p>The department has made no assessment of the amount of time off in lieu taken by staff in the last 5 years, and to do so would incur disproportionate cost.</p><p> </p><p>DCMS has a commitment to ensure that employees maintain a healthy work-life balance, and that the working hours of our staff are compliant with the requirements of the Working Time Regulations 1998. All employees have the opportunity to request to work ‘flexi hours’, meaning that (with line manager agreement) they can build up a certain amount of working hours as credit which can then be taken as time off. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/01/2022 answer text <p>Staff at DCMS work a standard 36 or 37 hour week and paid overtime is allowed on an exceptional basis in priority areas. Staff are encouraged to discuss their working hours with their Line Manager and, where they may be working beyond their standard hours, to record their hours of work with managers keeping oversight. A flexi time sheet template is made available for individuals to use to record their hours; records are not held centrally. Managers are responsible for ensuring employees are working their hours and not working excessive hours in line with Regulation 9 of the Working Time Regulations 1998 and this requirement has not been different where staff have been working from home. No members of staff have opted off of the Working Time Directive, and we do not have any workers in the categories set out in Regulation 9 of the Working Time Regulations 1998 at this time.</p><p>Staff are encouraged to discuss their working hours with their Line Manager and, where they may be working beyond their standard hours, to record their hours of work with managers keeping oversight.
