	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/10/2020 answer text <p>The suspension of face-to-face assessments for the Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) means the majority of new claims are not being assessed at present. We are urgently exploring approaches to safely progress new IIDB claims awaiting an assessment. Due to the nature of assessment we are not currently operating telephone assessments. We will restart face to face assessments in a safe manner with adherence to the latest public health guidance as soon as we are able to.</p><p> </p><p>To support existing claimants, reassessment case awards have been extended to ensure that payments continue unhindered on those cases. Only those who have a disability assessment determination decision will have a primary disabling condition recorded for them. The Department does not therefore hold data on the number of individuals with a particular condition who make a claim for PIP.</p><p> </p><p>The latest available data on PIP claims in payment, including by main disabling condition and geography (e.g. local authority), are published on Stat-Xplore: <a href="https://stat-xplore.dwp.gov.uk" target="_blank">https://stat-xplore.dwp.gov.uk</a>. As part of the Covid-19 response we introduced telephone and video assessments alongside existing paper-based assessments.</p><p> </p><p>We resumed face to face Work Capability Assessments (WCA) in May 2021, initially for claimants we were unable to assess by telephone.
