star this property answer text <p>The EU Regulation (1211/2009) establishing the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) is currently subject to review as part of the recast of the EU Regulatory Framework for Communications. We are seeking a deep and special future partnership with the European Union. The UK’s relationship with the European Union’s agencies and bodies upon exit will be evaluated on this basis. The Government is carefully considering a range of options and no decisions have yet been made on the UK’s future relationship with the EU’s agencies and bodies, including BEREC.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The local press is a crucial source of information for local communities and a vital part of a healthy democracy.</p><p> </p><p>In the March 2016 budget the government announced the introduction of a £1,500 business rates discount for local newspapers for two years from 1 April 2017. The government's response and guidance regarding the business rates relief was published on 2 December 2016. Since its launch in 2006 Ofcom has recorded two breaches of the Broadcasting Code with no statutory sanctions. The Arabic version of Al Jazeera is licensed by the Italian media regulator, Agcom, and broadcasts into the UK under the country of origin principle.</p> more like this
