star this property answer text <p>We recognise that this is a difficult and sensitive issue, and have set up procedures that are mindful of the sensitivities involved. To claim the exception the claimant will need to provide a completed pro-forma from an approved third party or evidence relating to either a relevant criminal conviction or relevant award of criminal injuries compensation. DWP staff will not question the claimant about the incident, they will only take the claim and receive the supporting documents. Claimants will be asked to confirm that they are not living with the other biological parent of the child during the process of providing evidence. They will not be asked to identify the alleged perpetrator.</p><p>Where a pro-forma is provided from a third party, DWP staff will check that the form is complete and verified by an approved third party. Where other evidence is provided this will be checked and returned to the claimant.</p><p>The decision regarding entitlement to the exception will be subject to the normal mandatory reconsideration and appeal process.</p><p>DWP will hold exception information for the duration of an open claim and then for 14 months after a claim is closed. This is in accordance with standard procedures and to ensure that the 14 month maximum appeal period for decisions is observed.</p><p>Where a claimant moves between Child Tax Credit and Universal Credit, the information with regard to the exception will be shared between DWP and HMRC to prevent the claimant from having to provide evidence for the exception a second time. A secure data transfer method has been set up to manage this process. In the case of an appeal, information will be shared with HMCTS to facilitate the appeal. This will be managed in line with data protection requirements.</p><p>Any disclosure request for information in relation to the exception would be considered in liaison with the prosecuting authority as appropriate, in accordance with procedures and practice applicable in the jurisdiction concerned and taking account of particular circumstances, including the relevance of the documents requested to the case and all applicable legal considerations including those relating to data protection.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The National Curriculum for citizenship, which is compulsory at key stages 3 and 4, covers the Commonwealth in the context of teaching about local, regional and international governance and the United Kingdom’s relations with the rest of Europe, the United Nations and the wider world including the Commonwealth. The National Curriculum does not mandate specific content about the Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings, but schools are free to include content about Heads of Government meetings in this context, including this year’s meeting in Samoa.</p><p> </p><p>There are also a number of opportunities in the National Curriculum for history for pupils to be taught about the history of the Commonwealth. For example, pupils are taught about British history from 1745 to 1901, including the development of its Empire, and they are taught the end of Empire and Britain’s place in the world since 1945. Under the proposals, North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) will have a core spending power of £33.4m in 2022/23, an increase of £1.3m (4.1%) compared to 2021/22. As at 31 March 2020, the PFCC held £5m in total usable reserves, equivalent to 16% of their 2020/21 core spending power.</p><p>My Department is in regular contact with fire and rescue authorities to ensure we remain informed of their financial circumstances and will continue to keep their funding needs under review.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Frauds that are committed online are pernicious crimes. They can cause terrible financial and emotional harm to victims. The Government has been working with partners in the public and private sectors to keep the public safe and bring these fraudsters to justice.</p><p>DCMS are leading ground-breaking work on the Online Safety Bill. The Bill will require regulated companies to take action to tackle user-generated fraud on their platforms. This will impact some of the most harmful online fraud types such as investment and romance scams. The Joint Committee recently published their report on the Bill and we are scrutinising this closely to make sure we comprehensively address their recommendations. DCMS are also leading work through the Online Advertising Programme that will consider, amongst other things, the role online advertising plays in enabling online fraud.</p><p>We have also been working closely alongside the National Cyber Security Centre who launched their Suspicious Email Reporting Service last year. This has already led to over 8.1 million reports received and the removal of over 67,000 scams and 124,000 harmful websites, since its inception in April 2020.</p><p>However, Government and the public sector cannot tackle online fraud alone. That is why, on the 21 October 2021, the Joint Fraud Taskforce was relaunched under my [Security Minister] chairmanship. The JFT brings together leaders from across the Government, private sector, regulators, law enforcement and victim groups to encourage collaboration to keep the public safe from these crimes. Alongside the relaunch, we published voluntary agreement with the retail banking, telecommunications and accountancy sectors outlining innovative measures to reduce fraud facilitated through these industries (<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/joint-fraud-taskforce" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/joint-fraud-taskforce</a>). The Online Fraud Steering Group (OFSG) is a public-private group focused on reducing the threat from online fraud in the UK. It reports into the Joint Fraud Taskforce and is co-chaired by the National Economic Crime Centre (NECC), UK Finance and techUK.</p><p>We continue to encourage the public to report fraud to Action fraud and to forward any suspicious emails to <a href="mailto:report@phishing.gov.uk" target="_blank">report@phishing.gov.uk</a> and suspicious texts to 7726, free of charge.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The government does not prescribe the curriculum of initial teacher training (ITT) courses. The ITT Core Content Framework (CCF) sets out a minimum entitlement to training that accredited ITT providers must incorporate into their primary and/or secondary ITT courses. The ITT Core Content Framework does not set out the full ITT curriculum for trainee teachers. It remains for individual providers to design curricula appropriate for the subject, phase and age range that the trainees will be teaching. Providers should ensure their curricula encompass the full entitlement described in the ITT Core Content Framework, as well as integrating additional analysis and critique of theory, research and expert practice as they deem appropriate. The ITT CCF is available at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/initial-teacher-training-itt-core-content-framework" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/initial-teacher-training-itt-core-content-framework</a>.</p><p> </p><p>The department is continually exploring opportunities to further improve teacher training and professional development, including reviewing the content of the CCF alongside the Early Career Framework. The review is due to be published in early 2024.</p><p> </p><p>Primary schools can use the PE and sport premium to provide staff with professional development, mentoring, training and resources to help them improve the quality of their PE, sport and physical activity provision to all pupils, and to embed physical activity across the school day.</p>
