An apprentice can be a new recruit or current employee aged 16 or over. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/04/2019 answer text <p>The current list of sectors in Part 1 of Schedule 1 of the Agriculture Bill applies to England and is based on the list in EU Common Market Organisation Regulation No 1308/2013, which provides the legislative framework for existing EU marketing standards. There is a power in Part 3 of Schedule 1 that will enable the Government to add sectors to that schedule via secondary legislation. The list of sectors and the regulation-making power (including the power to add sectors to the list) are reproduced for Northern Ireland at paragraphs 15 and 16 of Schedule 4 of the Bill.</p><p> </p><p>In England, the power to add sectors will be exercised if, following public consultation with interested stakeholders, a decision is made to introduce a new marketing standard. As agricultural policy in the UK is devolved, it is for each administration to decide its approach and what measures it should adopt. Among other things, this will involve deciding how many farmers and other land managers will take part. Decisions on specific numbers have not yet been made. The pilot is likely to begin with relatively small numbers of participants to help test the prototype system, identify problems and make improvements. This includes all funding provided for farm support under both Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 of the current Common Agricultural Policy. This commitment applies to the whole of the UK, in both a negotiated and a no-deal scenario.</p><p>Our Agriculture Bill includes a seven year transition period from 2021 to 2027, during which Direct Payments will be phased out gradually. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/06/2019 answer text <p>Environmental Land Management schemes (ELM) are scheduled to be rolled out from late 2024, with a national pilot beginning in late 2021. Detailed planning of the pilot is in train. The pilot will run for three years and will aim to assess the end-to-end operability and deliverability of the scheme, and allow us to identify and refine any issues or barriers that occur in practice.</p><p> </p><p>To support the development of ELM we are undertaking a number of test and trials. The work is being facilitated by a range of stakeholders, including farmer groups, representative bodies and non-governmental organisations, and it covers a range of geographies and sectors. 47 proposals are being taken forward in phase 1. We are working closely with stakeholders to finalise these. Depending on the complexity of the test or trial we anticipate the first of these commencing shortly. We have received over 200 proposals for phase 2. We will prioritise those proposals that fill gaps in scheme delivery components, outcomes and land management sectors identified from the coverage of the first 47 proposals. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/04/2019 answer text <p>When Countryside Stewardship was launched in 2015 Defra and Natural England set an ambition of delivering 500 new Higher Tier agreements each year.</p><p> </p><p>There have been four agreement rounds since then and there are currently 2,253 live Higher Tier agreements plus a further 782 woodland only agreements. Therefore, the ambition has been exceeded. For the current 2019/20 year the ambition is to deliver 400 new agreements.
