star this property answer text
Under the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund, the UK has delivered over £100million in support to Syria, Jordan and Lebanon since the start of the crisis. This has focussed on strengthening the moderate opposition, building resilience against extremists, fostering civil society structures in besieged areas, promoting Human Rights, delivering basic governance and laying the foundations for a more peaceful and inclusive future for Syria. Further details of our funding can be found on the Gov.uk website.

The UK has always punched above its weight in helping deal with the effects of the Syria crisis. Our vision for Syria is an open, democratic society with greater social, economic and political participation where violent extremism does not have a place and where refugees feel safe to return. That is why, alongside our pledge of over £1.1 billion in humanitarian aid, the Prime Minister announced a commitment of at least £1 billion to reconstruction in Syria during the 26 October Commons debate.

Iran's breakout period will be over 12 months for 10 years, and is not expected to fall to zero afterwards. The agreement will also lead to significantly increased transparency, in particular through implementation of the Additional Protocol and Modified Code 3.1. This will increase the IAEA’s ability to identify a breakout attempt; and significantly increase the time that the international community has to respond in such a scenario.
more like this

We understand that the scheme has functioned well and has been used in a significant proportion of arrests. Officials from our Embassy in Tel Aviv continue to push for further progress on the issue of children held in military detention with Israeli officials. On 23 November, an official from our Embassy in Tel Aviv met Israel’s Chief Prosecutor and discussed the issue of child detention and on 27 August, our Ambassador to Tel Aviv lobbied the Israeli Military Advocate General on Children in Detention where the issue of child detention was also discussed.
more like this
