	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/03/2017 answer text <p>The Department has not made any direct assessment of the Ralston-Semler Foundation Lumiar schools.</p><p> </p><p>The mosaic curricula the Lumiar schools have developed is a personalised project based curriculum that focuses on developing skills and competencies.</p><p> </p><p>The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) has undertaken research on individualised instruction but has not evaluated the mosaic curricula or these schools. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/10/2017 answer text <p>The national funding formula allocates the majority of funding, 72.9%, through the basic per-pupil allowance, while protecting the funding directed towards children with additional needs, with a total spend of £5.9 billion and overall weighting of 17.8%.</p><p>Funding will be distributed according to the individual needs and characteristics of every school in the country. This is why we provide full funding for adults to access a range of English and mathematics courses up to and including GCSE and equivalent qualifications. We are introducing a similar right to funding for specified Information and Communication Technology (ICT) courses.</p><p> </p><p>The Skills for Life Survey, 2011, estimated the literacy, numeracy and ICT knowledge of adults aged 16-64 in England, including estimates for regions and local authorities. ICT knowledge was assessed against four component elements, including word processing, emailing, spreadsheets and a multiple choice assessment of other ICT expertise such as internet use. The Department publishes information on the number of pupils excluded permanently or for a fixed period for ‘drug and alcohol’ related reasons. Guidance to schools clarifies that this category includes exclusions for alcohol abuse, drug dealing, inappropriate use of prescribed drugs, possession of illegal drugs, smoking and substance abuse.</p><p>Information showing the number of drug and alcohol related exclusions for 2008/09 to 2012/13 has been included in the attached Excel document. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/04/2018 answer text <p>Information on the number of missing incidents of looked after children in children’s homes by the location of the placement is shown in the attached table.</p><p>These statistics are experimental statistics based on data collected for the first time in 2015 and should be treated with caution as local councils’ recording of this information is improving over time. The figures are therefore not comparable between years and any assessment of trends should take this into account. The specific data can be found in Table 5 of the spreadsheet which is attached.</p><p> </p><p>In 2015-16 the total revenue balance across all local authority maintained schools was £2.1 billion. This amounts to an average revenue balance in each local authority maintained school of £124,000, which equates to 7.5% on their total revenue income. Re-brokerage can happen for a number of reasons such as a result of intervention action by the Regional School Commissioner, a single academy trust seeking to join or set up a multi academy trust, or a sponsor deciding to hand back an academy because it no longer has the capacity to run it. The table also shows how much additional funding, each school attracts through this factor.</p><p> </p><p>The table is calculated as if the national funding formula had been implemented in full in 2017-18, with no transitional arrangements.
