Bahrain's designation as a country case study in the 2013 FCO Annual Report on Human Rights and Democracy Report strikes an appropriate balance between the undoubted progress made in some areas and our continuing concerns in others. We will review all countries with human rights issues in our preparation for the 2014 Annual Report, which will be published in early 2015. The UK unreservedly condemns the use of torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment as a matter of fundamental principle.
