	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/02/2018 answer text <p><em>Thriving at Work; The Stevenson/Farmer Review of mental health and employers</em>, published in October 2017, sets out a compelling business case for employers to support their staff’s mental health. In the review, an independent study on the cost to employers of poor employee mental health commissioned from Deloitte found that:</p><ul><li>There is a large annual cost to employers of between £33 billion and £42 billion (with over half of the cost coming from presenteeism – when individuals are less productive due to poor mental health in work) with additional costs from sickness absence and staff turnover.</li><li>The cost of poor mental health to Government is between £24 billion and £27 billion. The Government is closely monitoring the effects of this on the UK economy to guide policy. Since 2010 we have invested over half a trillion pounds in capital investment, cut taxes to support business investment and reformed technical education. The Autumn Budget sets out the next steps the government is taking to improve productivity. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/06/2016 answer text <p>While labour productivity statistics are estimated by sector, there are no official statistics estimating the productivity of workers by their age.</p><p> </p><p>The Low Pay Commission (LPC) recommends National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates to Government based on detailed consideration of the evidence on the economy (including productivity statistics), labour market and pay, as well as wide ranging consultation evidence. We are on track to deliver our commitment to provide superfast broadband coverage to 95% of the UK by the end of 2017.Our£40m Broadband Connection Voucher Scheme was taken up by over 55,000 small and medium sized businesses - who employ a million people right across the UK and are already reporting, on average, a £1,300 per year increase in profits and a new job being created for every four new connections. After 6 months, we will expect them to apply for an apprenticeship, traineeship, gain work-based skills, or go on a work placement.</p><br /><p>As set out in “Fixing the Foundations: Creating a more prosperous nation”, this is part of the Government’s plan for achieving full employment.
