	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/11/2018 answer text <p>We have received a number of representations regarding section 106, as we have for other uncommenced provisions from the Equality Act 2010, and we continue to keep these provisions under review. Equality is never a one-time fix and it is right that we should keep re-examining the issues.</p><p>This Parliament is the most gender and LGBT diverse ever, but there is still more to do. Political parties are responsible for their candidate selection and should lead the way in improving women’s representation. We asked how we might reform the Act to make it less bureaucratic and intrusive to change legal gender and we received many responses from trans and non-binary people.</p><p>The GEO met over 100 organisations in the run up to, and during this public consultation. We are now preparing to analyse the written submissions and evidence collected so far.</p><p>We are aware there are a range of views on reform and that this is a complex issue that we want to get right. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/10/2018 answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice published the Female Offender Strategy on 27 June 2018, which sets out their plan to improve outcomes for women in the community and custody.</p><p> </p><p>As part of this, Government is investing £5 million of funding over two years in community provision for women. A £3.5m grant funding competition was also launched for 2018/19 and 2019/20, which included £2m Domestic Abuse funding for female offenders from Home Office.</p><p> </p><p>Through her involvement with MoJ’s Advisory Board on Female Offenders, Victoria Atkins, Minister for Women, will have extensive engagement on how to support women in the justice system who have been in abusive relationships.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, the Home Office is funding projects which aim to better support women in the criminal justice system through the Violence Against Women and Girls Transformation fund. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/10/2018 answer text <p>The Equality Act 2010 provides protection for any person with a condition that meets the Act’s definition of disability – that is, “a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-day activities.”</p><p> </p><p>The 2010 Act does not, except in a few specific instances, mention by name the conditions that automatically fall within the definition of disability.</p><p> </p><p>This is because in most cases, it is <em>the impact on the person’s life that is the qualifying criteria rather than the condition itself</em>.
