star this property answer text <p>​​The Department for Exiting the EU has engaged with a number of higher education institutions and groups including Universities UK and Royal Academies. Over the next few months the department will continue to engage with key stakeholders in business and civil society, including universities, through a series of roundtables, bi-laterals and visits across the UK.</p><p><br>We have been clear that we want to create an environment in which the UK as a whole can continue to be a world leader in research, science and the tertiary education sector more broadly. The government has already announced that UK researchers can still apply for Horizon 2020 projects and the Treasury will underwrite the payment of such awards, even when specific projects continue beyond the UK’s departure from the EU. Equally, EU students applying for a place at an English university or further education institution in the 2017 to 2018 academic year will continue to be eligible for student loans and grants – and will be for the duration of their course.</p>

star this property answer text <p>While the people of the UK have voted to leave the European Union, until exit negotiations are concluded, the UK remains a full member of the European Union and all the rights and obligations of EU membership remain in force, including the rights associated with accessing healthcare abroad.<br><br>Nothing has yet been decided on the future of the current reciprocal healthcare arrangements. The Government is considering the various options that may be available and it would be wrong to set out unilateral positions in advance of the negotiation process. star this property answer text <p>While the UK remains a member of the EU we will continue to participate fully in the work of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). As set out in the recent White Paper (The United Kingdom’s exit from and new partnership with the European Union), the Government will discuss with the EU and Member States our future status and arrangements with regard to EU agencies, including ECHA, as part of exit negotiations. It would not be appropriate to pre-judge the outcome of the negotiations.<br><br>The chemicals sector is one of the areas where an ambitious and comprehensive Free Trade Agreement is in the best interests of Europe and the best interests of Britain. Our priority will be to ensure the continued effective and safe management of chemicals, including maintaining standards that underpin trade and deliver on our international commitments.<br></p> more like this
