star this property answer text <p>67 lenders representing 95% of the UK’s residential mortgage market have signed up to the industry voluntary agreement to help mortgage prisoners.</p><p> </p><p>As set out in my response to your PQ tabled 5<sup>th</sup> November 2018 officials in the Treasury continue to work closely with the FCA and industry to explore what more can be done. This will include where lenders are not signed up to the industry’s voluntary agreement.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">A total of 118 suspected breach cases were reported to Treasury’s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) during the calendar year of 2017. The approximate aggregate value of these suspected breaches was £117million. As of April 2017, a total of 84 suspected breaches have been reported to OFSI since OFSI gained the ability to impose monetary penalties under the Policing and Crime Act 2017- I am unable to comment further on ongoing assessments.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">A total of 133 suspected breach cases were reported to Treasury’s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) during the calendar year of 2017. The approximate aggregate value of these suspected breaches as reported to OFSI was £1.4bn. As some of these cases are still under investigation this total may change as further information comes to light.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> As of April 2017, a total of 103 suspected breaches have been reported to OFSI since OFSI gained the ability to impose monetary penalties under the Policing and Crime Act 2017- I am unable to comment further on ongoing assessments.</ins></p>

star this property answer text <p>A Child Trust Fund account was opened for each child born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011, with a Government contribution deposited into the account. The total government contribution to each account differed dependent on a variety of factors, such as family income, disability and age. Junior ISAs are voluntary, tax-free savings accounts and therefore not all children hold a Junior ISA. For these reasons, it is not appropriate to compare the balances of these two types of account.</p><p> </p><p>All FCA fine income, after enforcement costs, is passed to HM Treasury and forms part of the governments total revenues to be used for the benefit of the tax paying public.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>A wide range of projects are receiving funding from Government to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. Government has committed LIBOR funds to support the National Commemorative events delivered by my Department - to commemorate the Gallipoli Campaign, the battles of Jutland, the Somme and Passchendaele, and a variety of events to be delivered in 2018.</p><p> </p><p>Government funding has also been committed to a range of other projects to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War, including £40 million for the First World War Centenary Cathedral repair fund, and £5.3 million of funding from DfE and DCLG for the First World War Battlefield Tour project. There are also many other projects receiving Government support, including a five-year Historic England project to add 2,500 war memorials to the National Heritage List for England, and the School Debates programme.</p><p> </p><p>Since April 2010 the Heritage Lottery Fund has allocated over £90 million to more than 1,800 projects marking the Centenary. This includes grants of more than £15 million to The National Museum of the Royal Navy for HMS Caroline, £16.5 million to Imperial War Museums for the new First World War galleries and 14-18 NOW, and £2.8million to Yr Ysgrwn. This figure also includes £11million awarded to more than 1,300 community projects. A wide range of community organisations are receiving funding under this programme, including disability groups, resident’s associations, faith groups, refugee councils, and theatre groups.</p>

star this property answer text <p>According to the Bank of England’s Money and Credit data, the outstanding level of consumer credit, in nominal terms, was £183.9bn in March 2010, compared to £209.4bn in March 2018.</p><p> </p><p>The government established the independent Financial Policy Committee (FPC), giving the FPC a primary objective to identify, monitor and take action to remove or reduce systemic risks with a view to protecting and enhancing financial stability. Following the Bank of England’s 2017 stress test, the FPC said that regulatory capital buffers for individual firms should now be set so that each bank can absorb losses on consumer lending, alongside all the other effects of the stress test on its balance sheet. This will ensure lenders are resilient to any defaults related to consumer credit.</p> more like this

In addition, tourism directly employed over 8,000 people in the Aberdeenshire area in 2015 and contributed £166m in GVA to the local economy in 2014.
