NHS England and NHS Improvement will then publish a national implementation plan later this year. NHS England and NHS Improvement will then publish a national implementation plan in the autumn.</p><p>The interim report published in March 2019 set out proposals for field testing. Field testing of urgent and emergency care standards is currently being undertaken at 14 NHS trusts. As set out in the Government’s Mandate to NHS England and NHS Improvement, with the agreement of the Government, NHS England and NHS Improvement will field test potential future changes to access standards following publication of the interim report of the Clinical Review of Standards and implement any new standards. These include the National Performance and Population Health Dashboard which brings together national datasets to enable insight on system populations, the health and care they receive, identify system opportunities and support benchmarking across peer systems. In November 2018, NHS Improvement published revised guidance to make all such subsidiaries subject to an approval process.</p><p><br> In contrast, the Secretary of State has the function of consenting to an NHS trust’s proposal to establish an income generating subsidiary company. The Department is not aware of any NHS trust which has asked for approval to set up such schemes in the last three years.</p><p>Due to commercial sensitivities, NHS Improvement does not provide information of which hospital trusts have proposals under active consideration to set up wholly-owned subsidiary companies. NHS England and NHS Improvement will then publish a national implementation plan in the autumn.</p><p>The majority of major accident and emergency (A&amp;E) departments (Type 1 and 2) are recording A&amp;E activity via Emergency Care Data Set (ECDS) nationally. NHS England is supporting providers through transition and it is expected that 100% will be submitting data to ECDS by September 2019.</p><p>NHS England is also supporting urgent treatment centres so 100% will be recording activity via ECDS by March 2020.</p><p>The programme of work to record same day emergency care data on ECDS is in pilot phase. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2019 answer text <p>The education funding reforms, which came into force in 2017, unlocked the cap which constrained the number of pre-registration nursing, midwifery and allied health profession training places allowing more students to gain access to nurse degree training courses.</p><p> </p><p>Health Education Institutes (HEIs) are autonomous private institutions and are responsible for setting the number of training places they offer. It is for HEIs to work as part of their local health economy to secure training places.</p><p>The Department does not hold information on the level of pre-registration undergraduate nursing places filled at individual HEIs, compared with the number of places they made available in the given period.</p><p>The Office for Students publishes annual data on the number of entrants onto pre-registration nursing undergraduate nursing courses broken down by individual HEIs. The latest published data from the University and Colleges Admissions Service from February 2019 shows that there has been a 4.5% increase in applicants to nursing or midwifery courses at English universities when compared to this time last year in 2018. However, we know that there is further work to do with the education and healthcare sector to ensure that students continue to apply for these places.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan set out the next step in our mission to make the National Health Service a world class employer and deliver the nursing workforce the NHS needs.
