The same high safety and security standards will continue to apply to those flights, and passengers will see no changes at the border at UK airports. During this period flights will continue as now. We have also agreed a Political Declaration on the broad terms of our future relationship with the EU. Our overall programme of work is comprehensive, thorough and is continuously updated. The Department for Transport is working closely with the sector to ensure that the requirements of the industry are factored into negotiations.</p><p> </p><p>The UK government and European Commission have agreed in principle that the two sides should negotiate a comprehensive air transport agreement. This will ensure that the aviation sector can continue to provide the connectivity that is vital for both the UK and EU. We are focused on securing the right arrangements for the future, so that our aviation industry can continue to thrive and passengers across the UK and the EU continue to have high levels of connectivity and choice at attractive prices. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/09/2018 answer text <p>Aviation is critical to both the UK and the EU, so the Government has confidence that an outcome that works in the interests of both sides can be achieved. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/04/2018 answer text <p>During the time-limited implementation period, the UK will no longer be an EU Member State. However, as set out in the terms of the agreement, common rules will remain in place. The EASA basic regulation will therefore continue to apply, so all UK-issued certificates, approvals and licences will be automatically recognised as valid in the EASA system (and vice versa).</p><p> </p><p>As the Prime Minister made clear in her speech last month, beyond the implementation period we will want to explore with the EU the terms on which we could remain part of the relevant agencies, such as EASA.
