Redress payments made under HMRC’s complaints policy are ex-gratia and they are not intended in any way to equate to compensation or damages awarded by the courts. During this period the Government will continue to negotiate, implement and apply EU legislation.</p><p> </p><p>HM Treasury is responsible for measures relating to the Economic and Financial Affairs Council.
