Not all of these will necessarily be economically inactive, as some may be doing very low paid work while in receipt of an out of work benefit, and some may be looking for work, so technically unemployed rather than inactive.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p /> <p>People with Learning Difficulties can benefit from the same support to find work as other disabled people through provision such as the Work Programme and Work Choice.</p><p> </p><p>In addition we are launching a new programme, Specialist Employability Support (SES), in September. It focuses on helping those for whom other provision such as Work Choice or Work Programme is not suitable.</p><p> </p><p>SES replaces the Residential Training contracts and is expected to double the number of people supported at the same cost.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p /> <p>To prevent young people slipping straight into a life on benefits, from April 2017 the Government will remove the automatic entitlement to housing support for new claims in Universal Credit from 18-21 year olds who are out of work. This will ensure young people in the benefits system face the same choices as young people who work and who may not be able to afford to leave home.</p><p> </p><p>We will ensure that vulnerable young people who are in need of support for their housing needs continue to receive it. Government will consider the impact in line with our legal obligations as part of that process.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p /> <p>DWP is in the process of transforming how its services are delivered to the public and a major part of this is enabling customers to claim online. Verifying claimant’s identities and the facts of a claim are an important part of making this possible while protecting the public purse from fraudsters.</p><p> </p><p>Each of DWP’s services has its own requirements for verifying information and the teams involved are working carefully to ensure that verification can be done in a user-friendly and secure way. To date, no problems with digital verification has been encountered and the services in question are continually being improved.</p> more like this
