As soon as the Foreign Secretary took office, he tasked officials with a comprehensive review of Israel's compliance with international humanitarian law. We continue to lobby DRC to tackle the drivers of conflict, introduce human rights reforms and combat impunity. The UK also continues to push for the imposition of sanctions through the UN against individuals who have committed human rights abuses. This is having a destabilising effect on the wider region. We are following developments closely and continue, alongside our international partners, to urge all parties in the region to avoid escalation and any action that threatens stability in the Horn of Africa. However, the British Embassy in Berne has been engaging with stakeholders on antisemitism, in line with the work of the UK's chair of International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. Our Embassy continues to have significant engagement planned throughout the coming months, including with the Swiss Government and Civil Society. Antisemitism has absolutely no place in any society, which is why we are taking a lead in tackling it in all its forms. The following day the Tanzanian authorities confirmed that service provision including voting rights in upcoming local elections would be restored.</p><p>The British High Commission in Dar es Salaam meets regularly with community leaders and civil society representatives on this issue.
