The central team draws on a wide network of subject matter experts across all relevant business areas within Ministry of Defence. The Ministry of Defence currently estimates that it does not need to recruit any additional staff if the UK leaves the EU with or without a deal, and will continually review workforce plans and reprioritise as necessary.</p> more like this

The British military has some of the highest standards in the world in how we conduct ourselves in armed conflicts and seek to avoid civilian casualties; we are happy to share our hard-won experience with our partners.</p><p>We draw from our own experiences in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere to learn lessons and to improve our processes even further. It is entirely right that we share techniques for minimising civilian casualties with other countries to ensure their military campaigns can be conducted in the most humane manner possible.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>In addition to the National Army Museum, in the current financial year the Ministry of Defence (MOD) supported 69 regimental and corps museums across the UK through a combination of a £1.3 million total grant in aid, £1.6 million salary costs, and providing utilities and some support running costs when a museum is located on a MOD site. Funding beyond the current financial year will be set later this year, and will be subject to the normal review process.</p> more like this

The Army estimates that 9,900 entitled family members are currently associated with Army personnel based in Wiltshire.</p><p>The current planning assumption for the number of Army personnel based in Army units located within Wiltshire in 2020 is 17,700. This covers the standard cost of retaining SFA when it is vacant, regardless of whether any maintenance is required.</p> more like this

Decisions concerning whether more work is transferred into DBS may be made where this makes sense for DBS and MOD in terms of efficient and effective delivery of supporting services and, ultimately, value for money. star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence’s planned expenditure, paid through a Grant-In-Aid, for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) until Financial Year (FY) 2020-21 is given below:</p><p> </p><table><tbody><tr><td><p><strong>FY 2017-18</strong></p></td><td><p><strong>FY 2018-19</strong></p></td><td><p><strong>FY 2019-20</strong></p></td><td><p><strong>FY 2020-21</strong></p></td></tr><tr><td><p>£49,908,705</p></td><td><p>£50,775,774</p></td><td><p>£51,763,497</p></td><td><p>£52,877,790</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p> </p><p>The figure paid by the UK is approximately 78% of the Commission’s annual budget; the remainder is paid by five other Commonwealth Governments - Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and South Africa, in proportion to the number of their war graves. Additionally, the Department also asks the CWGC to maintain a number of non-war graves within the UK and overseas. For the FY 2016-17, £1.75 million will be paid to the Commission for this work; the planned annual increase to this sum is in line with that of the Grant-In-Aid.</p><p> </p><p> </p>
