This includes by helping industry in its plans to be internationally competitive, innovative and secure. We are currently considering the right hon. Member for Ludlow's independent report into growing defence's contribution to UK economic growth. On a rolling 10-year basis, the UK remains the second largest global defence exporter, and in 2017 the UK won defence orders worth £9 billion. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/02/2019 answer text <p>The Defence and Security Public Contracts (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 have been laid before Parliament to allow the legal framework for defence procurement to continue to function in the event of a 'no-deal' exit from the EU. This statutory instrument will correct deficiencies to ensure the law continues to function properly and remove any reciprocal obligations that are no longer appropriate from exit day. This measure will provide the continuity and legal certainty required by public procurers and suppliers.</p><p>More broadly, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) continues to engage with Government Departments and with key suppliers to identify risks and opportunities that may arise should the UK leave the EU without a deal. We have a strong relationship with DOT&amp;E and we actively share approaches to develop effective and efficient solutions to some of our common challenges.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry of Defence regularly engages with the Department for Defense on programmes like F-35 Lightning, where the UK is an intrinsic part of the operational test team, and the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence decided to set the 2019-20 Baseline Profit Rate (BPR) in line with the Single Source Regulations Office's (SSRO) recommendation. The SSRO methodology for calculating the rate has not changed significantly since last year. It is published on the SSRO's website alongside a question and answer briefing, information fact sheets on its methodology, and detailed supporting analysis.</p><p>The BPR is an average of the actual profit rates earned by companies whose activities are comparable to companies that contribute to the delivery of Ministry of Defence single source contracts.
